Davor Mata\u010di\u0107 was born in Vara\u017edin where he enrolled in the Vara\u017edin School of Music at an early age. At the 29th Croatian National Competition for Music and Dance Students he won 1st prize. He enrolled in the Music Academy in Zagreb under Professor \u0110or\u0111e Stanetti, where he graduated with honors in 2002.<\/p>\n
Among many concerts, he has performed at prestigious venues and festivals such as: Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Festival of St. Mark in Zagreb, the Croatian Music Institute in Zagreb. He also performed with the Zagreb soloists at the 34th Vara\u017edin Baroque Evenings Festival.\u2028He has taken numerous master courses with eminent music educators, such as R. Kehrer, S. Benda, L. Baranyay, K. Richter and K. H. K\u00e4mmerling. He has also recorded for the Croatian Radio and Television educational program.\u2028He has worked at the Vara\u017edin School of Music since 2002 and has achieved remarkable results as a music teacher and piano accompanist. He has also served as a jury member at piano competitions in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy as well as at the prestigious International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.\u2028On his initiative the Vara\u017edin Woodwind & Brass International Competition and Memorijal Jurica Murai and Murai Grand Prix International Piano Competition were established. He also serves as the chairman and artistic director of the Organizing Committee of these two competitions.<\/p>\n
Davor Mata\u010di\u0107 completed his postgraduate studies in International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. He is a lecturer in the Music and Media Department at the University of the North. He was appointed to the Vara\u017edin Baroque Evenings Jury on several occasions, and is part of the jury panel of this oldest European festival dedicated to baroque music. In May 2022 he participated at the S\u00e9joure culture program in the organization of the French Ministry of Culture and the Maisons des Cultures du Monde.<\/p>\n
By the decision of His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, in occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between The Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Croatia, he was given the Order of Isabella the Catholic in recognition of extraordinary service in promotion of international cultural relations.<\/p>\n
Currently, he is serving his third mandate as the Principal of the Vara\u017edin School of Music.<\/p>\n
