Danijel Ljubić

After finishing primary music school where his teacher was Danica Ljubić, Danijel Ljubić attended the Varaždin School of Music with piano as his major subject under Olimpija Vojvoda. He graduated with honours from the Zagreb Academy of Music under Professor Vladimir Krpan. His graduation concert was held at the Croatian Music Institute, where he demonstrated his great talent, excellent focus and exuberant artistic energy.
During his school years he gave numerous recitals at school and played at concerts organised by the Varaždin County and Town authorities, and Zagreb Music Academy. He was granted a Varaždin County scholarship for talented musicians.
He won first, second and fourth prizes at competitions held in Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Karlovac. He appeared at the International Marsala Competition (Sicily, Italy) where he received a special recognition as the youngest participant and earned critical acclaim.
He performed at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival as a participant of EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association). It was in Dubrovnik that he also regularly attended seminars from 1996 – 2001 given by renowned European educators (Benda, Grindea, Jacobson, Baranyay, Muraro, Pavarana, Antonioli).
He attended seminars given by Professor Ruben Dalibaltayan (Armenia) in Makarska and Zagreb, at Clavis International School, and by Professor Franco Scala in Bardonecchia, Italy, who then became his mentor during his postgraduate studies at the Music Academy in Pinerolo, Italy. Soon he started his second postgraduate master’s degree at the Music Academy in Zagreb (class of Vladimir Krpan) and earned the title of Master of Piano. While doing his master’s degree, he also learned to play harpsichord under Professor Višnja Mažuran.
He has given numerous recitals in Croatia and abroad. At the 34th Varaždin Baroque Evenings he performed the concerto for 4 pianos and strings in A minor by Bach, and earned excellent remarks.
Since 2004 he has worked as a piano and chamber music (piano duets) teacher, and accompanist at the Varaždin School of Music. Since 2017 he has also been teaching piano at the Ivanec Music School Regional Department, and in 2018 was appointed Head of the Ivanec School of Music.
His former students study at prestigious music academies in Croatia and abroad, often attend seminars given by renowned professors, play at concerts of the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, at the Festival of Young Pianists and win numerous awards at competitions in Croatia (Varaždin, Zagreb – Sesvete, Split, Dubrovnik, Križevci, Sisak, Opatija, Poreč) and abroad, in Italy, Slovenia, Serbia (Venice – Musile di Piave, Brescia, Palmanova, Radlje ob Dravi, Belgrade, Sremska Mitrovica, Bečej).
