Ivana Godec – Vinceković

Ivana Godec-Vinceković was born in Varaždin, where she also completed her secondary education. She also attended secondary music school with piano as her major under Olimpija Vojvoda.  Her tertiary education as a piano student started at the age of 17 at the Zagreb Academy of Music. She studied under Professor Vladimir Krpan and Professor Đorđe Stanetti, and graduated with honours in 1995.
She was also taught by Russian pianists Lubov Timofeyev and Naum Starkmann, and attended master classes given by numerous renowned educators.
After earning her university degree she started working at the Varaždin School of Music, where she was appointed Head of the Piano Department in 2006.
Her students often perform at various concerts and recitals, playing as soloists accompanied by an orchestra or giving recitals, and continue their studies in music. They have won numerous awards at many national and international competitions, such as first prizes and special prizes at the following competitions: “Tribute to Jurica Murai“ in Varaždin, “Zlatko Grgošević“ in Sesvete, “Sonus“ in Križevci, “Davorin Jenko“ in Belgrade, “Chopin fest“ in Belgrade, “Pia Tebaldini“ in Brescia, “Musica insieme“ in Musile di Piave, etc.
Ivana Godec-Vinceković has also won a number of awards. Some of them are: an award given by the Rector of Zagreb University in 1995 (for piano duet concerts of the Zagreb Academy of Music held in Paris and Zagreb), the 1996 Darko Lukić award for best accompanist, exceptional teacher award (Premio didattico) of the Pia Tebaldini International Piano Competition in Brescia in 2010 and the 2010 Annual Award given by the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Pedagogues. In 2014 she was promoted as teacher trainer by the Education and Teacher Training Agency.
She has taken part in the organisation of a number of professional meetings, seminars and competitions.
She has served as secretary of the Tribute to Jurica Murai and Murai Grand Prix International Piano Competition since it was established. She was a member of the EPTA Croatia Steering Committee for many years.
She serves as a juror at international piano competitions, such as “Koroško klavirsko tekmovanje“in Slovenia where she has served as a juror since 2012.
Along with her teaching career, she also gives recitals and works as an accompanist and collaborates with different types of artists.
